Desiree Marquez-Dugan

 
 

Desiree is a Marine Corps Veteran. She was stationed in Okinawa, Japan from 2007-2011 as a Maintenance Management Specialist (0411). After an honorable discharge, Desiree moved home to Pasco, WA.

She is currently working on her Bachelors in Applied Management at Columbia Basin College (CBC). When not in class she assists veterans begin college while working at her CBC's V.E.T.S. office. She also organizes activities alongside her peers as CBC's Veterans Club President.

Desiree enjoys painting with her daughter and playing with her other babies, 2 pugs and a doxi, with her husband. On the weekends she works as the owner of her face painting and party entertainment company. Desiree also enjoys acrylic painting and volunteering in her community as well as staying involved with her church.

The 2nd Annual Women Veteran Symposium is the second symposium Desiree has co-organized and she hopes to continue to bring women veterans closer together through events such as this in the future. Feel free to contact her with any questions.

Ashlyn Jimenez

 
 

Ashlyn is an OIF veteran who served as a Hospital Corpsman with CLB 46.Ashlyn is finishing her A.A.S. at Columbia Basin College (CBC) with plans of transferring to the University of Washingtons Microbiology program in the fall. She then plans to continue her education and career through the attendance of a Washington medical school. 
Ashlyn also serves as a math tutor in the CBC V.E.T.S. center, treasurer of the CBC Vets Club, and also volunteers weekly in her churches Sunday school. Ashlyn and her husband enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures. 

Ashlyn strives to create an encouraging and compassionate environment among female veterans. It is this desire that drove her to co-coordinate this event.
